Burkina Faso 2016
Well…I’m back. I have returned from Burkina Faso, Africa. Truthfully, I returned on June 7th, but I have a tendency to get really busy and put things off. So…here’s my recap. It’s gonna be long, but I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed living it!
May 27th, 2016 4am
Fellowship Bible Church, Searcy AR
Our trip started in the wee hours of the morning on Friday, May 27th. Our team gathered at the church to head towards Little Rock to catch our first flight. Spirits were high and we were all excited to embark upon our journey.
As we arrived at the Little Rock airport, we were all still in great spirits and excited.
8am
Our first leg was from LIT to Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport.
This was, by far, the easiest flight of the trip. Just a couple of hours on the plane. Those are the best trips.
10am
I think everyone was really excited to get to Chicago because we were looking forward to having lunch there. Since we had an 8 hour layover in Chicago, we wanted to go to Giordano’s to experience authentic Chicago style pizza.
And I think everyone enjoyed it! It was so good! This would be our last big meal of our trip. Certainly, our last chance to eat pizza before we returned. Or so we thought…
6pm
O’Hare International Airport, Chicago, IL
Well, with our tummies sufficiently stuffed, we board the flight for the longest leg of the trip: Chicago, IL to Brussels, Belgium.
Spirits were still high! As you can see below, we were are still very excited to be on our journey!
Personally, I don’t sleep well on planes, so…I spent most of my time watching movies. Most everyone else got some sleep. Once we arrived at Brussels, we had been traveling about 22 hours.
