Burkina Faso 2016

June 2nd, 2016

After a much needed good night’s sleep, we awoke to a wonderful breakfast and news that we would be doing a devotional down at the barrage.  It would be followed by a tour of the site where Streams in Burkina Faso planned to build the Infants Rescue Center.  It was a great morning devotional and we were surprised by an announcement:  our teammate, Kara, had decided to be baptized in the barrage.  It was awesome and a memory that we will all carry with us for the rest of our life!  After all of the baptism, we all posed for a pic in front of the barrage.

Upon leaving the barrage, we traveled to the site of the Infants Rescue Center.  This land was donated to Streams in Burkina Faso by the town for the work that they plan on doing and how much of an impact they will have in the area.  It is truly a beautiful spot that overlooks the whole town.

It was here that I was a little star struck.  One of the members of the Streams team was featured in a Living Water International video about Burkina Faso.  It was this video that inspired me to get involved in water ministry.  I was able to pray with Bertain and let him know how much of an impact he had on my life just be recording a simple video.  Great guy!

Here’s the video in question:

The day ended with several folks going to the market to pick out fabric for dresses and shirts.  It was a wonderful day of getting refueled and replenished.
